so i was hosting an author chat the other night and had a large series of Connection to the Chat Server is lost. I was wondering if there was another way to stabilize the connection so that it doesn't happen again. I tried to gain access to the IIS manager like the other threads talked about but we are on a shared server and the host wont change the processes number for us even for the hour that we need.

 

any suggestions?

Do you mean your server is using web-garden ? 

 

We are researching a new solution to let CuteChat work on that shared server and reply you within two days.

i would guess that they would be using a web garden just from what i have read online. thank you for looking into this.

We have investigated that issues.

 

I think GoDaddy.com use <trust level="Medium" /> for the shared servers.

 

So our CuteChat is not able to works under the Medium trust level plus the Web garden at the same time.

 

Our solution in v5 is by configurating appSettings <add key="CuteChat.NLB" value="mode=local" /> for the Web garden issue.

But that feature requires the High or Full trust level.
